Cardiff University is recognised in independent government assessments as one of
Britain’s leading teaching and research institutions.
The University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) is a confident, forward-thinking and metropolitan higher education institution with a history tracing back to the 19th century. Having invested £50m to improve its campuses and further enhance the student experience, the institution has recently unveiled a new Food Industry Centre and started work on a cutting-edge new home for the Cardiff School of Management. Attracting students from more than 125 countries, UWIC was also recently ranked as the best new university in Wales by in essential guides published by both the Guardian and the Independent.
The University of Glamorgan was placed in the top 10 of the new universities in the
UK in the Guardian league table 2008 and was a finalist in the prestigious Time
Higher Education ‘University of the Year Awards 2007’ recognising its excellence in
teaching, research and innovation.
It is now part of the Glamorgan Group which includes the Royal Welsh College of
Music and Drama – the National Conservatoire of Wales – and Merthyr Tydfil College.
